Bennett Fracture
An intra-articular fracture-dislocation of the base of the first metacarpal .
The most common mechanism of fracture is axial loading of the first metacarpal (i.e., during a fist fight).
Dorsal subluxation is the most common dislocation.
The fracture has been labelled on the first set of images. Can you find it in the second set? Click on the image to see the answer.
The next set of images were taken while the hand was in a cast. Can you see the fracture? Click on the image to see the answer.
