Anterior Inferior Dislocation As indicated before, anterior dislocation of the shoulder is common. In most cases of anterior dislocation, the humeral head lies anterior and inferior to the glenoid. Sometimes this positioning can be extreme and the dislocation is termed an anterior inferior dislocation.
Look at the images below. Notice that the anterior dislocation is in the normal inferior direction.
