Choledochal Cyst

Four types of Choledocal Cysts
  • Jaundice, RUQ pain, palpable mass

  • Can present at any age; cause of prolonged jaundice in infancy

  • Congenital malformation of biliary duct

  • Aberrant insertion of pancreatic duct into the distal bile duct, reflux of pancreatic secretions damages forming bile duct

  • Increased risk of malignancy

  • Treatment: surgery
