Malgaigne Fracture
- Articular or para-articular fracture of the sacroiliac joint and ipsilateral ischiopubic rami.
- Due to the location of the fractures involved, a Malgaigne fracture renders the pelvis unstable.
- A Malgaigne fracture can often be recognized clinically as shortening of the ipsilateral
lower extremity. Radiographic diagnosis can be made from an AP view of the pelvis.
