Transverse Avulsion Patellar Fracture
- Caused by indirect force generated by the quadriceps tendon.
- Transverse fractures of the patella are much more common than longitudinal or comminuted
fractures.
- As with all patellar fractures, it is important to differentiate between fracture and
bipartite or multipartite patella.
