Imaging Modalities

Introduction
  • Ultrasound is the starting point for imaging the bile ducts and gallbladder.
     
  • ERCP and PTHC allow for direct imaging of the biliary ducts. MRCP is a non-invasive alternative for imaging the biliary system.
     
  • If involvement beyound the biliary system is suspected, CT may be performed.
