Incomplete SBO is represented by a transition zone,
with dilated loops proximal to obstruction and normal-caliber loops distal to
SBO.

Adhesions appear as linear impressions at sites of
obstruction

Hernias appear as abnormally located or clustered
loops. Smooth extrinsic
compression may be seen.
Anterior abdominal hernias may need lateral imaging

Volvulus often demonstrate non-specific findings of
SBO, but “bird beak” appearance may be observed at the site of obstruction.
