Malrotation - Radiographic Features

When suspecting malrotation, an upper GI series would best show the abnormal position of the ligament of Treitz.

Abnormally located cecum Misplaced duodenal-jejunal junction
Cecum is in an abnormal location in the mid pelvis. The duodenal-jejunal junction is to the right of the spine, and most of the small bowel is on the right side of the abdomen.
Ladd's bands  
This shows Ladd Bands resulting in a distended stomach with a small amount of distal gas.
