Carcinogenesis Risk
Fetal exposure to a dose under 50 mGy (<5 rads) is currently regarded as reasonably safe.
At a dose of 50 mGy, there is approximately
- 0.2-0.8% excess risk of inducing cancer during childhood and
- <1% risk of fetal death.
