Case Scenario and Question – Renal Stone

Question:   A woman at 27 weeks gestation has developed colicky right flank pain radiating to the groin.  UA is positive for blood.  Among other dx, urolithiasis is considered.  In this context, which is FALSE:

    A.  US is insensitive for ureterolithiasis. 
    B.  Hydronephrosis of pregnancy is very common and can be confused as evidence for stone disease. 
    C.  MR is not a viable alternative to CT in the evaluation of urinary stones.

    D.  Renal protocol CT provides fetal radiation dose  ~40 mGy.
