Aortic Disease

As the main conduit of blood from the heart to the rest of the body, disease of the aorta is intimately related with the heart. Gadolinium enhanced MRA is the primary method used to study the aorta. The main aortic pathologies studied with MRA are aneurysm, dissection, and intramural hematoma.
