Intramuscular Medical Injection

75 year old female with history of melanoma on skin of back. PET/CT ordered for restaging.

There is mildly increased FDG activity within mildly nodular appearing soft tissue density foci overlying the dorsal aspect of the right proximal arm and a similar focus of low level activity within the soft tissues of the right dorsal anterior thigh (not shown) most compatible with inflammation related to medical injection sites. The patient had received vaccinations in these two locations shortly before the PET/CT.
