72 year-old male with recently diagnosed esophageal cancer. PET/CT ordered for staging.

Patient had coronary artery bypass graft surgery 7 weeks prior to PET/CT. Increased FDG activity in the bone surrounding multiple surgical sternal wires compatible with post-surgical bone remodeling.
